Bushcraft: An Introduction, a fascinating new way of seeing the wild around you!

An introduction to the world of Bushcraft, join us up in the forest to undertake an enjoyable woodland experience whist learning new hands-on techniques for an array of bushcraft skill sets, on leaving, you’ll be far more confident to engage in your bushcraft activities in the future – hey you could even show the family, friends and work colleagues some of what you know! This is just as much for females as males, so folks, think of it as being akin to Brook Whipple (Girl-in-the-woods) meets Grylls. Wilderness camping will be a doddle after this! Come along a meet like-minded folk and soak up the skills being shown and learned by you!

Some of the many activities could be: shelter building, learning to safely create fire, cooking over open fires, nature studies, tracking & trail signs, using sharp edged tools to create all kinds of wood product based items, bow and arrow making, running along the forest trails, wide games and loads more! – a guaranteed safe & fun day out breathing in that precious fresh air that our trees offer us all.

Join us on our Forest St. George’s Day Quest, become Knights and Princesses for the day, searching for the Grail along the woodland trails, using real tools to make swords, bows & baldrics. Bring along your dressing up cloths and we’ll have jousting, fun wet ‘punishment’ in the stocks, apple bobbing and treasure hunts. We’ll search for the Lady of the Lake and Excalibur and learn all about the enchanted forest and how we an look after ourselves there!

Join me up in the woods for a Mindfulness in the Forest session lasting three hours; I’ve been running these sessions for the last three years now with a good deal of success; so just bring along yourself and a rucksack with a blanket, a mug and a mat, I’ll provide drinks and we can bake some breads over the fires coals! having wandered the woodlands trails and glades and found through the breath the restorative effects of the nature around us – see you all there folks!
