Shinrin Yoku and Forest Bathing – an understanding whilst soaking up that Forest air!

August 18 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

| £35.00 p.p.

Join us up in our forest between 10:00 and 13:00 hours on Sunday 18th August 2019
£35.00 is the session cost
This session is for those aged 18+ and is open to both female and male delegates.
Our tutor has qualified as a Practitioner for Mindfulness in a Woodland Setting and has a welter of experience in delivering sessions within the forest setting.
The session will explain the historical context and origins of mindfulness within woodlands. Leaflets will be handed out, after an explanation on the wider health benefits of immersing yourself within a woodland setting and breathing in the air offered out to us all from the trees.
You will undertake Earthing exercises through some barefoot walking, we shall meditate both alone at sit spots and communally (or as you wish). There is no onus upon anyone to participate at all, watching and soaking up the whole experience is the key, we will all find parts which we think ‘yep that’s for me’ and others that are not – and that is fine! We will run through some mindfulness activities using the forest as the backdrop but also as it’s resource! We will also connect with and become nature aware whist absorbing the environment about us with an open and non-judgmental mind! We will also taste various wild teas straight from the forest, thereby interacting furthermore with location.
So come along, kick-back for three hours, feel at ease among like-minded folk, relax, de-stress and equip yourselves with some well researched techniques to overcome anxieties, high blood pressure, and to increase general overall body repair!
Please ensure you are well equipped for the woodland: have all your own personal medicines, a rucksack or sturdy bag containing their kit (not plastic, flimsy or paper bags), wet weather gear (coat, over trousers & hat), warm hat & blanket (for around the camp fire), sturdy shoes, boots or Wellingtons, long-trousers, long-sleeved tops, warm layers & gloves, a pair of heavy duty gardening gloves that fit them, sun-cream protection, insect repellent & a mug.
To book
