Come along and join us up in the forest to spend a day with family members, designing and building shelters of both natural wood product or man-made tarps.

Experience our deep dark forest whilst engaging with your loved ones in something that you’ll all remember for years to come. Learn all about the various methods, tips, tricks and good practice to be applied when constructing a shelter. Our Bushcraft qualifications and experience coupled with our Forest School learning ethos and our listening ears will aid your understanding of ‘how do we build a viable shelter?’. Understand how knots and hitches work for differing effects, everything you need to know about tarps!, effective insulation and weatherproofing, which woods to use and how to establish a safe framework of wood for natural shelter making purposes – phew guys come prepared for a steep learning curve and some graft, and who knows this could be the beginning of a family wilderness camping trip!
Please ensure that you are all well equipped for the woodland: all your own personal medicines, a rucksack or sturdy bag containing kit (not plastic, flimsy or paper bags), wet weather gear (coat, over trousers & hat), warm hat & blanket (for around the camp fire), sturdy shoes, boots or Wellingtons, long-trousers, long-sleeved tops, warm layers & gloves, a pair of heavy duty gardening gloves that fit them, sun-cream protection, insect repellent, a packed lunch & a mug.
