Bushcraft: An Introduction, a fascinating new way of seeing the wild around you!

Join us up in the forest, from 09:30-16:30 hours on Sunday 11th of August 2019 and immerse yourself in your bushcraft beginnings!
Priced at £75.00 per adult (inc. a lunch time veg campfire stew and breads and the kettle is on all day for hot drinks!)
Designed for those who are 18+, this one-day introductory course has been refined over the years by the Course Director Nick to enable you to continue your own bushcraft investigations afterwards. On this course, you’ll cover the very basics but be in a position on leaving at the day’s end, with a good grasp of the techniques, to move forward confidently.
Nick, as an Instructor, has been delivering bushcraft courses at all levels for some twenty years, he has a proven track record matched by certification from I.O.L. (Institute of Outdoor Learning) Bushcraft Competency Certificate, as a John Muir Provider, NCFE Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Living, a County Council recognised Social Pedagog and as a Social Forester.
The course will cover:
Natural and Man-made materials Shelter construction
Fire creation both ancient and modern
Safe use, techniques and the law for knife and axe use
Cordage making – natural and man-made fibers
Useful Tree and Plant identification
Camp fire cooking – including damper/bannock breads
Safe water procurement and purification

The day will include a lunch time vegetarian stew and breads. Various drinks are offered throughout the day. Please feel free to bring along any preferred foodstuffs as an alternative.
Please ensure that you are well equipped for the woodland setting and all that our wonderful U.K. weather could throw our way on the day!: all your own personal medicines, a rucksack or sturdy bag containing  kit (not plastic, flimsy or paper bags), wet weather gear (coat, over trousers & hat), warm hat & blanket (for around the camp fire), sturdy shoes, boots or Wellingtons, long-trousers, long-sleeved tops, warm layers & gloves, a pair of heavy duty gardening gloves, sun-cream barriers, insect repellents, packed lunch & a mug
