A Forest School Leaders C.P.D. skills update session
August 25 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm| £35.00 p.p.
We’ve been asked by a number of L3 Forest School Leaders in North Staffordshire to put on some skills training – so here we go folks!
Head up to our forest setting for between 09:30-16:30 hours on Sunday 25th August 2019, cost £35.00 per head, this session is aimed at any level of Forest School Practitioner, either in training or fully qualified (being a most useful refresher).
Re-discover the art of knots, cordage making, safe knife, billhook and axe work and the Law, hone your fire lighting skills and gain a higher knowledge of differing techniques, we’ll cover campfire cookery (ideas, recipes, ‘have-a-go’, please feel free to bring along your own foodstuffs), shelter building will be widened to include hammocks, ridge-line tying, taut ropes and many of the differing designs out there, useful tree and plant recognition and identification and making something out of wood product form our forest backdrop, to take back home with you. Don’t forget to ask us on the day about anything else you’d like us to cover or even better give us a bell beforehand!
It’s an opportunity to really brush up on those skill sets you already have, to chew-the-cud over Forest School delivery in main stream Primary education and to experience with like-minded people a real working Forest School deep in the dark forest!
Please ensure you are well equipped for the woodland: all your own personal medicines, a rucksack or sturdy bag containing their kit (not plastic, flimsy or paper bags), wet weather gear (coat, over trousers & hat), warm hat & blanket (for around the camp fire), sturdy shoes, boots or Wellingtons, long-trousers, long-sleeved tops, warm layers & gloves, a pair of heavy duty gardening gloves that fit them, sun-cream protection, insect repellent, a packed lunch & a mug
