A fantastic bunch of young swashbucklers yomped up through the forest to the hidden pirate treasure chest, following the pirate markers en route.
Then they all spilled into the Big Pirates Base (BPB) and started out designing their three team camp flags, thinking caps on, pens in hand and a little help from mums n dads and we were all soon in the pirate party mode!
Next up, a firm favorite, making wooden swords, these were assembled and then personalized with their own individual markings. After a hot mug of seafaring chocolate, it was off into the deep dark forest to locate their team camp site and to crack on with creating their own camps; so there was much discussion or rather, pirate parle! followed by some frantic construction of their woodland pirate dens.
Once their flags were raised,
it was back to the BPB for some rare pirate scran (that’s party foodstuffs to you and I!): it was wolfed-down with typical pirate aplomb, much shouting and exchange, as would suit any pirate gathering!
Then it was over to the ‘deck-games’ – quoits, ‘walk-the-plank’ and apple bobbing, before one final run around to their dens in forest – pirate style!
Their forest stay was completed with a hunker down around the main camp fire, telling pirate jokes (Argos featured heavily!), swapping adventure tales of the high seas and toasting ‘mallows. Cheers for coming folks and we’ll see you all again soon!
