Hi Folks, we’re very pleased to announce another forest school bushcrafting themed day to be held at St. John’s Primary School at Keele (Quarry Bank Road, ST5 5AF) this coming Half-Term school holiday.
Running on Tuesday 19th of February 2019 from 10:300 until 15:00 hours and costing £20.00 per learner. We have aimed the session to be for those in Y2 and above. However please contact us to discuss this if you have a child in one of those years and one that would like to attend but is in the lower years.
Come along and join us in this safe school grounds setting for our usual and exciting new activities based around our forest learning ethos and character building educational approach to the great outdoors: some of the many activities could be, shelter building, knot tying, survival -in-the-wild techniques for younger folks, learning to safely create fire, cooking over open fires, nature studies, tracking & trail signs, using sharp edged tools to create all kinds of wood product based items, bow and arrow making, wide games and loads of other junior bushcrafting skills to be learned! – a guaranteed safe & fun day out breathing in that precious fresh air that our trees offer us all.
Please ensure that the learners are well equipped for the outdoors!: all their own personal medicines, a rucksack or sturdy bag containing their kit (not plastic, flimsy or paper bags), wet weather gear (coat, over trousers & hat), warm hat & blanket (for around the camp fire), sturdy shoes , boots or Wellingtons, long-trousers, long-sleeved tops, warm layers & gloves, a pair of heavy duty gardening gloves that fit them, their packed lunch & a mug
There will be no access to any of the school buildings during the session.
