A wonderful couple of days for young people wishing to experience a forest setting and to achieve curriculum outcomes for their ‘Seasons in Science’, ‘Changes in trees’ and compass understanding themes.
Our ‘Dangerous Days for Sons & Daughters’ are mindfully led forest activities of yesteryear, think here the 1970’s mashed up with Swallows and Amazons, all delivered in a safe forest environment. Let your young folks run wild, go mad, let off steam and yes enjoy those ‘old timer’ ‘have-a-go’ sessions of real fire making, splitting wood for fun, learning to safely control a knife whilst whittling something to take home with them, running the forest trails and building character in themselves for future resilience!
Fantastic sunshine, great alternative venue for us on the Saturday, delivering elsewhere, loads of fun, some target skills honed, plenty of laughs and superb exercise: Sunday’s party was more cerebral in parts, teamwork to complete the course through the forest: the canyon crossing, the razor-wire, the shoot, crossing the swamp and more! plus the water-tight shelter to be made, in the time given and tested with the makers in it, with a bucket of water being thrown over it! – phew fabulous parties.
