Wildwood can offer you a range of fun and exciting parties for all ages. Our woodland base provides a beautiful setting for your childs party or we can bring the party to you.
Forest school can have a profound and positive effect on the way children and young people relate to each other and the world around them
Wildwood was created because we believe it is important for children to get to play outside, to explore and to discover
Oh dear!!! what a difference a week makes! after that fantastic hot Bank Holiday last weekend, we have two parties up at Camp Hill on the same day and our climate really decides to show off. Both beginning in brief sunshine and light wind but then the wind got stronger, then the rain followed, not long after that the sleet turned up, then BANG went the thunder, oh yer then the hail, ‘zip’ with a touch of lightning, more wind with less sun and then BIG hail – oooooooops but hey what an ace time we had. So a massive WildWood ‘CHEERS’ to all those party-goers who came along to celebrate their friend’s special BIG day. Mind you, once the shelters were made and folk were inside them, snug as ‘bugs-in-rugs’ with a hot cup of chocolate – the weather was the last thing on their minds – laughing and joking along about how their other friends back at school, would be fed up, at not having been in our Forest experiencing all our seasons in a few hours. And in-between all that was slung our way, we also managed to make some arrows and have an archery competition with the trusty WildWood bows. See you all soon. Take care you intrepid partiers – good effort and what mega cakes you’ve all been bringing along recently!
What a fantastic Party we held last Sunday, for a really ‘get-up-n-go’ bunch of girls; they were just bril. We made fires using fire-strikers to boil water in Kelly Kettles to make hot chocolate, the group organised themselves really well – needing no input from us! They managed to source a good supply of really well thought through tinders – with birch barks and cones to thin birch twigs to make nest-like structures to get their fires going well; along with an array of sized finger sticks to feed into the fires – great effort.
Then the group launched into some concentrated and focused shelter building – our forest actually fell silent for a while as they ‘toyed’ with differing ways of putting up their shelters.
Saturday morning’s weather held true & we had another great party up in the Forest – lots of wild-play, pixie-home construction leading on, to full size den making and fire-lighting for our six year old party goers. Oh and of course a huge ‘cammo’ style Birthday cake for the ‘main-man’!
Thanks for all the positive comments from the parents attending and looking forward to meeting you all again soon
Managed to escape the rainfall today – phew! & so we had a great day up at Camp Hill. After a couple of wild-play games, we did some serious team-work on the lifting of logs across the forest. Time delays were added to the ‘walking’ race if someone stumbled or let go of the log. Once in position it was a race to collect ten cones each and the first team back sitting at camp were the winners! After a well deserved hot drink made by the teams, we moved on to the Nerf Range and did some individual practice. Next up was our newest WildWood game ‘Cavalry Capers’. After lunch, we had our versions of ‘capture-the-flag’ and den-building. See you all again soon.
